Ahead of your trip, you are going to have lots of questions. Here are a few common ones to help you, but if you would like any more information or do not find your question here, please give us a call or email and we would be happy to help.

How long are the adventures?

The adventures run from anything between one week and six weeks. If you are interested in staying for longer, please contact us and we will see if this can be accommodated.

Can I sign up with a friend?

Yes of course! You are welcome to come with a friend, in a group or on your own. For groups of 5 people or more, please contact us first to ensure that we can accommodate you.

Do I get free time during the trip?

There will be some time during the programme to allow you to do your own thing if you wish to. If you would like to do some independent travel during your stay, please let us know at the time of booking.

Do I have to stay on the same project for the whole trip?

No, you are welcome to visit some or all of them. On the initial application form, you are able to select your preferences and we will base your schedule on that. If you change your mind at any point, it can be accommodated.

Is the volunteer house in a safe place?

Yes, the house is in a lovely, secure compound with security 24/7. We take the safety of our guests very seriously so ask you to follow the rules and guidelines at all times.

How can I contact my family during the trip?

The house has free wifi which you are welcome to use at any time. Please be aware though that power cuts do occasionally happen which may disrupt this!

Do I need to get any vaccinations or medications for the trip?

Yes, we strongly recommend getting the suggested vaccinations - please speak to your GP or travel clinic ahead of your trip. We can also provide guidance on what is required, so please contact us if we can assist.

Although Nairobi is a low-risk area for malaria, there is a high possibility that you will be leaving the city. We recommend taking anti-malarials for the duration of your visit, so please contact your GP or travel clinic.

The medical facilities in Nairobi are very good, but please ensure that you bring any of your normal medications with you. We also ask that you notify us of any medical conditions in your application, just so that we are aware.

Will you provide a list of items we should bring with us on the adventure?

Yes! An information pack will be sent to you once your application has been confirmed.

Do I have to prepare my own meals or do my own shopping?

No - we have a wonderful cook who prepares breakfast and dinner every day. Lunch is provided on the projects or with the activities. Unless you want any extra snacks, you will not need to buy your own food at all - we won't let you go hungry!

Do I have to pay extra for other activities?

No! Unlike many other organisations, we include ALL the other activities and safari(s) within our fee so that there are no nasty surprises and hidden costs for you at all!

Throughout your trip there will be a number of different activities (and the safari) built into your itinerary to enable you to explore more of what Kenya has to offer.

Is there an age restriction on the trips?

No, all ages are welcome! However anyone under the age of 17 years must be accompanied by an adult.

The trips are perfect for professionals, gap years, students, career breaks or retirees!
